Head of Section Society, Markets & Policy, DTU Wind Energy

Dr. Lena Kitzing is Associate Professor and Head of Section of Society, Markets and Policy at DTU Wind Energy.

She is leading a multi-disciplinary team concerned with the transition to a sustainable energy system in a socially acceptable and economically feasible way.

Lena has 11 years of experience in research, with a specialisation in energy economics and policy instrument design. Prior to that, she has worked for 5 years in the energy industry, amongst other things in Corporate Finance and Business Development for Ørsted.

Lena has participated in at least 15 international research and public research consultancy projects, was acting project coordinator of the H2020 project AURES, is lead contributor in IEA Wind Task 26, and board member of EERA Joint Programme Wind, and
coordinating the sub-programme on “Planning & Deployment, social, environmental and economic issues”.

She is regularly invited to keynote speeches, as member of scientific committees, public events and to provide expert opinions, in particular in dialogue with European and national policy makers.
